Note that the Sun X4140 also has 8 disks, in a 1U chassis.  And since 
it's an x86 processor, you have your choice of OSes to run, and RHEL is 
even one of the certified choices.

Just sayin'.  ;-)

There is a lot to be said for optimizing for ease of administration.  In 
many shops, your most expensive component of your budget will be your 
people.  So, it makes a lot of sense that you might want to give serious 
thought to how you optimize your purchases to make best use of those people.
