Hello,
I am running Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64 on a T61p (6459-CTO)
without any problems. System was purchased with 1GB of RAM and 80GB SATA HDD
running Vista Home Basic, which I removed and replaced with 4GB of
RAM, a 320GB
SATA HDD and installed a retail version of Vista Ultimate. Currently have a
500GB SATA HDD installed in it.
Operating system and background programs use about 1.2GB of RAM when cold
booted, and tends to hover around 1.3-1.4GB during daily usage.
I use a T60 (no p) at work, and there is not too much difference between the
two, usability-wise.

Anyone have any comments on 64 bit Vista? I'm thinking I'd like to run it
on my new T61p,
only to reclaim the extra gig of memory (I purchased the machine solely for
graphic
editing). I actually use Vista Ultimate (got a free license from a Windows
Mobile UG I've belonged
to for over 9 years), and once you tweak it, it's fairly decent, although
updates take forever and drivers
are somewhat of a pain.
The X60 Tablet of course remains at XP Pro. I wish I could make this
faster, because when I tried Photoshop
CS4 on the tablet, realized I needed a new machine. Any other tidbits about
the T61p I should
know about, such as the nvidia graphic performance, or is it fairly
comparable to the T60p it's replacing?
Thanks,
Paul
