Right. Vista did so well that for the first time in Microsoft's history, there
were layoffs. And amongst those laid off were most of the programmers that were
working on Vista.

Vista is ME of the 21st century. Sooner it goes away, better off all of us will
be. Including MS.

Win 7, if one can judge from its beta, has cured quite a few of Vista's flaws,
and may end up being a decent OS in the end.

Cheers,

George

Good grief, you guys don't think Microsoft is making these computers and
software for you, do you?

This is an enormous industry... When VISTA came out, it made an incredible
amount of money for nearly everybody in the industry...

64 MB vs 4 GB.... Pshaw!!! 30 GB hard drives replaced by 500 GB hard
drives... soon to be replaced by 750 GB flash drives that require no moving
parts...

This is about making money for manufacturers... for Microsoft... for online
retailers... for tech shops and Value Added Retailers all over the world..

And you can afford it...

So quityourbitchin, for it will never go your way... We are all just
players... complaining is OK but it changes nothing... Windows 98 is still
available, but I'll bet no more than 2 percent of this forum use it any
more...

Sure there is Linux and Unix and Ubuntu... and all that other fluff... but
look at the sales... negligible... and most of you sneak back to WXP or
VISTA and cannot wait for Windows 7 or whatever they decide to call it.

VISTA kept a lot of computer component manufacgturers alive... and that
benefits you as well... keeps you from becomming bored.
