Same experience - RAM wise.

Vista - One Gb at idle, XP Pro SP3 - 350Mb at idle.

The Vista sidebar isn't worth the difference.

  That's a SIN. There was a time when you could run Win98 on 64MB very nicely.
  Now it takes 1.2 gigs just to boot up.
