No need to recall any units, on first setup a Touch will download and
install the latest available software version. The problem is that the
latest beta isn't at a point they are happy with. There are still major
issues to be sorted, features to be completed and performance to be
improved.

Right now they are in a position of being damned if they do damned if
they don't. Logitech are being criticised for holding onto a product to
get the software right, if they released it now, they would be
criticised for releasing too early and not waiting until the software
was right.
