Increasing your internet speed won't have any affect on improving your WiFi drop outs (Touch losing WiFi to your router), they are unrelated. To change Touch from using WiFi to ethernet: Touch > Settings > Advanced > Networking > Choose Network > Connect to Ethernet Network
I assume all of your network devices all connect through a single router? You are certain your wired "switch" is not a HUB? If it has a port marked "input or line in" it may be a HUB. Your all wired network is: Touch > Switch > Router?
