1. You must have the DAC connected and switched on when switching on the
Touch. After which, you can switch off and on the DAC (not sure about
changing DACs). However, once you switch off the DAC, you will not be
able to assess the info page about the DAC in the Touch, but otherwise
everything else works correctly.

2. Async USB allows the DAC to be the master clock, compared to
toslink/coaxial SPDIF which makes Touch the master clock. The data
transferred in all these cases are the same (assuming the systems are
set up correctly). The general claim by DAC designers is that Async USB
will allow the use of the superior (lower jitter) clock in the DAC.
