Its very funny that when the disciples said "Oh Lord, increase our faith" Luke 17:5, Jesus had been instructing them on forgiving someone who sins against you and all that. The reason they said this, I believe, was because forgiveness and loving your enemy is so hard and it takes greater effort and intentionality to be able to do that. It doesn't come easy that's why its such a big thing and there is so much emphasis.
I think in terms of material support of love, I would like to say I think its easy to think someone loves because of the material things when its out of abundance that they can give you what they give. Just like that woman with the coin who sowed and Jesus said she has given more than you lot. The thing is our measuring is more on the size of the gift and not the condition of the heart. I believe ther are times when i dnt have material things to give the Lord instructs me more often to give more of my time to pple close to me and to the ministry. Talk with them laugh with them and listening to them attentively. On loving thy enemy, ths could be one of the hardest thing to do but we ought to pray for an increase in grace in our lives so that we would overcome.
