I love the song that was done Pst Tommy that says "Teach us Jesus this world needs us to love to love without a reason! I look into the mirror you ask me what do i see , i see Jesus in me desperate to free all the people"
I have been blessed to be part of First time counseling at church and one of the main reasons people who backslide struggle or sometimes even fail to return to God is the fear of being judged by the Christians. Its quite unfortunate that as Christians we sometimes fail to love people despite their weaknesses because we are so busy being "righteous" and wanting to associate only with "righteous people". Sometimes we are not willing to say hey i see you have a problem lets walk together so you can be restored. I believe we need to ask God for the grace to love people and to see people the way God sees them ie, the real person inside and not the outer shell that's sinning. I believe true agape love was shown by Jesus who would reach out to the "sinners" of the community and guess what we read about them today because somebody decided to ignore cultural and religious boundaries and chose to Love instead. Much love!
