jt: Hi Bill Taylor, it's good to see you are still
around ...

Question:What is the theological counterpart to
'The Theory of Everything'?
jt: Judy asks: What is the
"theory of everything and why is it important?"
Answer:The Incarnation
jt: Oh Good, you answered your own
question. I would never have come up with that, I must belong to the
unwashed masses..
It is well and wise to think of internal
relations. Do not stop with the external. Indwel the Scriptures.
jt: Who is stopping with the
external? When one receives God's call and is born again he/she is indwelt
by the Holy Spirit and from this point on God becomes an "internal" reality
so we may call Him 'abba Father'
Example of 'internal' thinking:Slade's post this
morning.
jt: Then let me search Slade's post
for the 'internal' - By internal do you mean 'from the
heart'?
My
wife called me yesterday on my way to school and told me about this exchange
(with the "S" word). She was rolling on the floor, so to speak.
I was afraid I would return this morning to the
disappearance/banning/crucifixion of Jonathan Hughes. Jonathan... you're still
here, right?
I do
not believe swear words are a matter of holiness (I have the same view of
cigarettes smoking as well). I also do not see the very occasional use of
swear words as an issue of rebuke or spanking from the moderator... especially
when I can understand what preempted the post.
jt:
The above may be Slade's internal wisdom but it is not the wisdom of God who
says that blessing and cursing should not come from the same stream. Cigarette
smoking is also detrimental to sanctification and holiness because it
destroys the body which is God's temple.
I
hope you all read Jonathan's post and I hope it sank in. He has some real
concerns regarding TruthTalk and this is why it has the nicknames TrashTalk
and TwistTruth.
jt:
Who uses these nicknames? I certainly don't; you must do this amongst
yourselves -
When Scripture warns us to guard our tongues, I do not believe the
passage specifically refers to the use of expletives; I think the passage
specifically speak about the use of the tongue to tear down and destroy...
exactly what Jonathan is complaining of. Let me quote Jonathan
(who, in my opinion, gives three examples of unclean
speech)...
- shallow, sarcastic replies designed to tear others down
- logic bullying tactics
- compares other people's [posts] as dogs**t and
myth
jt: I don't care for sarcasm personally but some people believe
that Jesus used sarcasm and if this is the case then it can not be
considered 'unclean speech'. Personally I don't think logic is an
aid in understanding God's Word either but I do believe that
those who use it are well meaning and do it in 'good faith' I don't see it as
an unclean bullying tactic. There is just one 'mythmaker' and he is
'out there somewhere' - What is so inward about judging Terry's speech as
unclean just because of his use of terminology?
Our
loved Bill Taylor spoke wisdom in his return address and what he said is true.
We need to be building THE kingdom, not using the wreckage to construct our
own. -- slade (dare I say... as
moderator?)
jt:
Love rejoices with the truth Slade/Lance and the angel of light does not
always wear a red suit with horns. No matter how nice and sweet one is
outwardly if they don't speak according to God's Word their gospel is flawed
and they are laying another foundation.
