I'd still peel off a chunk for root, it'll make corruption less likely and limit the damage if it happens. On regular BSD I usually have separate partitions for root, usr, var, and swap, but the way OS X organizes things I think one "system" partition would do. I have a 4G system partition, which seems ample. That would leave most of the disk free for files and applications. If you install apps in the system partition, maybe 6-8G depending on how much space the apps and fonts and things take up. I ended up using 4G because it was convenient to have the size match my "emergency backup" drive which is a 4G seagate. You don't need to have OS 9 on the same partition or drive with OS X, and I would say it's better if you don't. Doesn't matter if it's 9.1 or 9.2 or 9.2.2. -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
