Yes, there are the occasional newbies to Thunderbird (which defaults to
bottom posting), but they usually get 'assistance' pretty quick because
reading their replies is painful...
As I said, my biggest peeve are those who mindlessly and vainly attempt
to defend their uncontrolled (whether bottom or top) posting, and
totally ignore the entire point of trimming your posts to make them
readable and on point.
The OP is Keith R. Bainbridge and he doesn't seem to have posted since.
I don't recall any posts suggesting that people who bottom post or post
interleaved do so mindlessly. There have been several posts that
suggested top posters were deficient in intelligence, experience,
education or character. The invective seems to be almost entirely
one-sided. I have posted quite a few times objecting to personal abuse,
because as well as being wrong it is ineffective for encouraging a
cooperative and helpful atmosphere on the list. I do respect the views
of those who disagree with that last point and am willing to continue
the discussion if they wish.
