Mathias you're absolutely correct! I have no argument with the potential accuracy available in OOo, BUT the product offers support of Imperial measurements and my argument is that it should be properly supported, or withdrawn altogether. Of course, if that decision is taken then the impact on the English speaking world may become problematic for product take-up which, in a commercial organisation, would be a marketing issue.

By the way, it's not animosity about the metric system per se, but an argument for useful support of Imperial measurements, or the withdrawal of that support in its entirety. Points make far more sense typographically, but not everyone using a word processor is comfortable with typographic standards.
