The Tach is an automotive 4-6-8 cylinder version. (I have clipped the 2
leads provided for 4 cylinder operation)

I opened the tach to see if I can replace/correct the circuitry to double
the # of RPM's, but the entire assembly was dipped in resin!

I read the original instructions (diodes pointing towards the coils) but
that didn't make sense - but I will try it anyway - since the 2 diodes
pointing away should have worked......and it didn't work.

I am connecting the diodes to the orange lead on the coil (I'm pretty sure
this is correct)

TC - what type of diodes are you using? I am using the largest capacity
diode that Radio Shack carries. Should I be using switching diodes? They're
supposed to be faster.

Thanks again,
Paul
