Very nearly all the late 68k and early-mid Power Macs were set up that way, outside of the big full-tower case ones such as the 7/8/9500 and 600. Even some of the tower ones like the 6400 and 6500 had similar slideout logic boards and faceplates covering the drives. Getting them open to access the drives and such could be a pain.
