Cher,

If your husband is happy with the way his phone functions with its current iOS
and he doesn't want some app requiring iOS 8 or some new feature in iOS 8, I'd
recommend not upgrading. I have an iPhone 5 that came with iOS 8 on a warranty
replacement model and I would go back to ios 7.1.2 if I could. I wouldn't say
my phone has been degraded but the operation of ios 8 with VoiceOver is just
not as smooth as it was with iOS 7.
