As a Window-Eyes user, I'd like to say that this is true, and in some ways it 
is.
However, the real truth, in my opinion, is that Apple makes it very hard for 
Windows based screen readers to work well with iTunes.

That is true with Window-Eyes as well.
It really depends on how much one uses iTunes and what aspects the person uses 
the most as to which screen reader might perform the best.
No matter which screen reader you use, the bottom line is you need to know how 
to use it's advanced features if you are going to get anywhere with the Windows 
version of iTunes.
GW Micro was the first ones to really work with Apple to make iTunes 
accessible. But the later versions of iTunes have made everything more 
complicated.
