If you don't mind sticking with txt files, PlainText is free and very good. It allows for creating folders and I don't know that you will run into a problem with length, though I haven't written anything that terribly long. NoteMaster is another very good text editor. I believe it runs about $4.00, but there is a light version you can try to see if you like it. They both sync with DropBox.

Some of us do really write stuff! Pages is a word processor for tarting it up afterwards, or as you go even; but for scribblers, edit, or some of those old DOS editors like Boxer and so on, would be ideal for this. Let's not go down the Unix/Linux VI, ELVIS and all those, good when you get used to them, but all those commands so counter-intuative. If that were the case it seems the problem would affect other apps such as iBooks etc. There is always a possibility that 10 pages of notes may be pushing some limit. Seems there is more investigation required. Of course I'm not sure the Notes app was ever intended to handle that much text. :) On Oct 26, 2012, at 3:58 AM, Rob Harris <bobs...@googlemail.com> wrote: > I think we don't know enough about how VO works and how big it's text > buffer > is from which it does it's TTS. > > It could be a design flaw we're only just coming to terms with.
