I agree with you but I won't make excuses for them. If I can buy cables and chargers for $5 or so than they can surely get them for a lot less. This is simply a way for them to gouge more money from us. If they used any kind of standard cable like USB C it would be a somewhat different thing but the lightening connecter is their own and no one else's so they will make money from us when we buy them no matter where we get them.
