Wow! Larry, that is pretty impressive.

Definitely worth every penny.

Evan, We bought smart cases for our SE3 phones. I think they're 6000 MA cases

Thanks Chris, I am used to the Home button, since I've used one on my iPad Mini
for years. That is a point in the SE's favor.

About battery life, that is also a good point. But I'm willing to get a bit
less battery life in exchange for the smaller size.

So it looks like I'm going to be looking at two options, the iPhone 13 Mini,
and the iPhone SE third generation.

Once I get my hands on them, then I can make a final decision.

Thanks to all of you for some good info.

Just a couple more things Evan. Keep in mind that normally in a smaller phone
factor comes less battery life. I would say that both phones have decent
battery life, but nothing compared to the bigger phones. Of coarse, battery
life is dependent on how much the phone is used every day. The second thing
is, and you did not say this mattered, but the iphone SE uses touch ID and has
a home button, and the iphone 13 uses face ID and has no home button. Just a
couple of things that you should keep in mind when looking at the different
iphones.

I would say that both the iphone 13 mini and the iphone SE will work good for
you for several years and I would guess 4 to 5 years depending on usage and how
good the battery life holds up.

It is said, that the reason the mini is no longer in the lineup of the new
phones is because of sales. And I personally think that having two iphones at
the smaller form factor is why the mini is going away. The SE is a very
popular model, and the SE sales is a lot more, and this is probably because the
price of the SE is less than the mini. So I do not think either phone is a bad
choice. Like anything else, it comes down to personal preference.

Thanks Alan

,I don't think I'll be getting it next week, but I plan to take a trip at the
end of the year; so I do need to have it up and running by then for sure.

I don't really need the absolute top of the line, but I figure that if I'm
going to get one, I do admit to feeling that it would be cool to get a really
nice one, especially if I can get it in a small package, particularly since I
hope to be using it for a good while, given that these things are not cheap.

I'll let you know what I get.

Hi Evan,

Just to clarify some misinformation posted about the iPhone 13 Mini versus the
iPhone SE. I'm currently using the 13 Mini and my iPhone before it was the SE
2020. The SE 2020 has the same physical form factor as the iPhone 7 and 8 and
while the 13 Mini has a larger screen size than the SE, its physical form
factor is actually a bit smaller.

I'm not going to pretend to predict when these various models will
be obsolete but I believe the 13 Mini will be usable for a few more years. I
can say that I really like mine and don't think you can go wrong choosing it.

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks Larry,

I did some Googling. It took me some time, but I found a guide to Apple's
smallest iPhones.

Apparently, the iPhone Mini was a very popular line, so there was some
dissapointment when a new version wasn't released this year.

I'm wondering though, if I get a 13 Mini, if it will be more likely to go
obsolete before an SE model or a standard 14 model.

If that is unlikely, then I'm kind of leaning toward that model. It's still for
sale on the Apple site and from Verizon, which is our carrier.

The SE is close to the same size as the Mini, although according to what I've
read, it has a smaller screen but a bigger body. A lower screen resolution too,
but that doesn't matter to me.

Hey Guys,

I meant to mention that I saw an iPhone 13 Mini not too long ago that looked
like just the thing if I want a small model, but someone else told me that they
weren't making newer models of that one.

Is that true?

Thanks much.
