I'm confused. What's meant by the iPhone 13 Mini becoming obsolete? I can't see that it won't be able to run on cell networks for years, and it'll keep getting IOS updates for at least as long as any other iPhone 13. This will almost assuredly be for just one year less than the iPhone 14 models. Apple may not have put out an iPhone 14 Mini but that doesn't mean they won't have something comparable to the Mini down the road, and it doesn’t take anything whatsoever away from the current iPhone 13 Mini. Unless you're looking for that extra year of IOS updates, I don't see any reason not to go with an iPhone 13 Mini and then choosing your next phone in a few years when you're ready. Who knows what your options will be then. Sorry if I missed the point here.

I'm currently using the 13 Mini and my iPhone before it was the SE 2020. The SE 2020 has the same physical form factor as the iPhone 7 and 8 and while the 13 Mini has a larger screen size than the SE, its physical form factor is actually a bit smaller. I'm not going to pretend to predict when these various models will be obsolete but I believe the 13 Mini will be usable for a few more years. I can say that I really like mine and don't think you can go wrong choosing it. Good luck with your decision.
