Unfortunately it won't work on Mars. ;-) However, it will be carbon neutral if the electrical generator runs on synthetic fuel instead of gasoline. In that regard Siemens, Porsche and some other big companies have recently teamed up to build an industrial scale plant in Chile for the production of synthetic fuel. The plant will be powered by wind energy.
