I have a GVP ioExtender in my 3000, and it has really increased the max
spped my system could handle. I had problems going higher than 19.2K on my
internal port, while my iox handled 57.6K without a problem (the
limitation being my 14.4K modem). Even with the modem at 14K, there was a
difference in speed between 19.2K and 38.4/57.6K (this was years
ago, when BBS's were popular)
Now that I've upgraded to a 56K, my port is locked at 115K, and my system
works fine. I don't have any stats, but it feels faster.
