To *slightly* defend Apple, that actually don't make any hardware.  Its all
subcontracted out to Asian companies to construct, who also have contracts
with other hardware manufacturers.  For all we know, Apple may have placed
an order for 10 million Shuffles, but only received 1 million as the company
can't fulfill orders.  A good way for Apple to save money buy not
manufacturing, but a really sucky way to project how much you will have to
sell when the product goes to market.
