Hi list,
Here are some bugs and minor defects I stumbled upon using the head version of
Window Maker:
-changing MouseWheelUp and MouseWheelDown in WMGLOBAL seems to do nothing.
-when one launches an application on a given virtual desktop, switches desktops
before the window gets to be drawn, then goes back, the window gets positioned
in the top left of the screen, over the clip, even though the clip is
marked as "do not cover".
-the file chooser used by WPrefs to indicate the locations of one's icons and
images does not resize properly.
-in WPrefs, the infobubble for the "window focus preferences" icon (first one
of the row) erroneously claims that this set of preferences toggles the
"colormap switching policy for 8bpp displays". This is taken care of in the
"other configurations" department.
-I cannot recall in which thread I read that to activate autocompletion in the
"run program" box, you had to change the %a by an %A in the "program to run"
field. It would be nice to add this clarification to the documentation for
those that do not not follow the list.
-when the app launcher ("run program" window) loses focus, you have to click on
the input box to resume typing.
-the French translation of "Lock" in the menu "Desktops" (or whatever they are
called in the English version) should read "Verrouiller", not "Vérrouiller".
Poking around, I gathered the change should occur at line 217 of the menu.fr
file.
And here comes my wishlist:
-windows list (as when you center-click on the desktop) should show the
corresponding icon for each app. This would be more consistent with the
miniwindows and alt-tab preview behaviours, and would make finding
the wanted app easier.
-would it be possible to have no delay in the display of the balloon text for
incomplete window titles, miniwindow titles... and when displaying/hiding the
clip when it is set to autocollapse ?
-the icons in the alt-tab cycling box seem to be stuck at a maximum size of
64*64 pixels. An option to make them bigger would come handy to make sure they
remain legible on high resolution screens.
This is about all I can think of now. Thank you for your work and long live
WindowMaker !
