OK, only following suggestion from Joe per a previous message:

I never use band-hopping in normal operation, only run WSPR on 630M, so 
unfamiliar w/ the band-hopping caveats (yes, RTFM... ).

Think I'll just step back and let the guys hammer out the TX decision 
issues.
