ARGGHH ...

I've been following this discussion as a lurker generally agreeing that adding colors to the graph would be effective, then saw this. Really? Do you want to confuse more people by removing the input slider?

I had a discussion on the Yahoo JT65-HF list serv with a ham using JT65-HF (the original) because he says that WSJT-X was 'too confusing' to use and JT65-HF was very intuitive, and didn't have "pages of user guide" to have to use. I believe some of that was hyperbole, but still.

So what that the slider only affects the wide graph, I have always been told that the waterfall has less to do with finding signals (or signal strength), and more to do with finding an open location to call CQ from.

Please, leave the slider alone. It allows for quick tweaks when one changes bands and the noise level changes.

My 2 cents ...

Hi All,

The slider next to the level meter only seems to affects the wide graph's waterfall when "flatten" is off. To avoid others this confusion would it be better to scrap that slider and just use the sliders on the wide graph?

The slider adjusts the waterfalls now like it always did. The

On the fast graph the slider controls both the spectrum and
waterfall...and just the waterfall on the wide graph.

    Hi Joe,

It looks very good here. But this is only a subjective opinion
from someone with ageing eyes. Suggestions from other developers
    should also be considered.

I like the way the level meter behaves now. Disconnecting my
antenna, the level drops down to about 7-8 dB. With the antenna
connected, it raises to about 20 dB when only weak signals are
present. In general, the level stays around 30 dB. I have no audio
level adjustment in the RX chain.

Is the input level slider still needed?

        Hi Edson,

Revision 7599 uses QColor(85,170,85) for "normal" and

(a dark orange) aof "too low".

I think the dark orange is an improvement. Not so sure about the
gray-green, but perhaps others will like it ??
