Despite my own aversion to certain things about Middle Eastern beliefs, I can still read the bible because it does teach many things that are important and beneficial for all of humankind. Because of its high literary standard and massive influence in our world's history, I have also always taken pleasure in reading the KJV's passages. For people outside of zen who feel some strong connection to the Christian life and yet are also interested in things to do with the Buddha, they should perhaps consider looking for liberal-minded Quaker gatherings near their hometowns
