This last point I can't quite see. - A major point about p2p etc is that on
the whole, whilst they may have a wide range of tracks for download - in the
areas in which we on this list are interested - the quality of such rips is
generally not high, therefore whilst those '2000' djs (nominal number I know
mate) might now have that rare track which you had to become a private
detective to track down and a mortgage to buy, until 'legitimate'
downloading services (like iTunes for instance) catch-up with the really
specialist end, I can't see that FS, Traktor, Ableton  etc folks have got
the edge in our little area - unless they actually own the original vinyl

... I feel the real competition will start from people like iTunes when they
ratchet up the sampling rate to 32 and even beyond. It will simply not be
feasible I feel, for your soulseeks and limewires and kazaas to match that -
at least for a while ...
