It is impossible to free one's self from the influence of the past, after all that's what makes us who we are, but it is an interesting exercise to try to avoid all conscious refrences to the past and present in order to make something totally new. DJ Spooky is quite outspoken on such philisophical modernistic aesthetics. He calls pop culture today a culture of amnesia, because we seem to be losing all our links to the past. Anyway, this is for some other list somewhere else. -out J. -- Knecht
