Very logical too. And it solves the old problem of a chord change occuring in the middle of a note. Usually the chords will be played by a different instrument than the tune so it makes a lot of sense to represent the chords by a separate voice rather than intermingle them with the melody. Since it we already have two speciality clefs in abc and are about to add a third, how about: clef=chords as well? ------- And while we're at it, how about including Christoph's tablature "clefs" and Phil's Gregorian chant clefs in the standard? They shouldn't interfere with anything else and I'm sure they'll be handy at times. (If anybody reply in length about Gregorian or tablature cles, please rename thread to minimise confusion.)
