Hello Morden
Ok, I have touched the wrong key, and basically I agree with all of you, but the
arguments
as applied on IRC in general are contradictory, because then I can say, for example,
that
I don't want to let other ppl know on which channel I am (eg: I am on a sex channel),
but
then /whois will demostrate to everyone on which channels I am. So that wouldn't be
also,
in such a way, violating the laws of privacy - since I don't want to let others know
on
which channel I am ?
Actually, instead listing the users names that a particular nick is chatting with, I
am
much more interested in the number. I prefer to chat with someone who is not chating
with no one (for fast replies) rather than with one who is busy with 10 other users.
So
my suggestion was not to violate the privacy of the users but used for a benefit of
selecting a better, and more available user. Also if Amirc does it, it would be an
advantage on all PC irc progs (ie 99.99% of the IRC users)
Yes Jason, in the original email, I gave an example about girls, because dating in
Malta from the IRc has become very popular since all of us live in a about 1-15km
distance, and I see nothing wrong in that. Then depending the character and charm a
particular girl has, you choose and invite her to a bar.Mind you - once happened that
I dated a girl, and it turned out to be a gay!! :))))
But well, I don't want to rise personal discussions on this wonderful mailing list,
and
flood it with lots of useles pesonal-point-of-view emails. So if my suggestion still
appears against privacy, I accept it, and everything stays as it is :))

-> Well... no, you miss our point. It *is* a violation of their privacy.
-> What gives you the right to know who the other person is chatting to?
-> Your original post mentioned talking to girls on IRC, so I'd suggest
-> that on that front, you'd have better luck in bars.
