I more or less grew up (or never did) working on the BW.....

Made donuts at the waffle house from around 6:30 am...worked all day, night.
Would work the wheels next door at the first ave arcade - a large amusement co
from Ok
owned it, went BK and the guy running it took it over. They probably paid
around 30k a
year in rent. Arcades paid the most rent on the BW....

As for "junk" clothes - Jamison's on first ave was there for ages and ages. Mrs
J had one
leg - but worked countless hours and told me countless stories...she sold the
"Traditonal"
boardwalk stuff you all are talking about...when she left, a couple of kids
from Brooklyn
ran a place there - a real, real junk store - the kids were around 14 - the dad
was
teaching them the biz.

The BW had high end shops years and years ago - before most if us remember.
