I am glad Mano Hazarika asked the question publicly. It was going around
for months, but in the background. No doubt it was a thorn in the side of
Houstonians and spread to the entire AANA community.
I am glad that Jugal answered it publicly as well.
The only way to deal with disappointments and misunderstandings is to
express them forthrightly and in a timely manner, so that the issues could
be gotten to the bottom of and hopefully resolved and laid to rest.
But instead we hold the problems under wraps, deliver to the wrong people,
talk about them in in the hush-hush and let them fester, resulting in a
poisoned environment.
Even though it is not my place to bring it up, let me do it anyway, because
there are a couple of other gripes that were expressed to me, but I have no
idea if it was taken to Jugal et al and/or the DenverHost Comm.:
One has to do with Mamoni Goswami. It has been charged
that ASA showed disrespect to Goswami by not attending her address.
Some respected members of the AANA community have apparently vowed
not to attend joint conventions in the future on account of this.
Would someone address this and hopefully put the matter to rest?
The other deals with something about refreshments either not
given to or taken away from a meeting, possibly the Mamoni
Goswami address. Can someone explain the problem and hopefully
Denver explain it?
There is another one I just remembered. It is about some donations
made
to ASNA and that ASNA never got it or something like that.
While we are at airing our GRIPES, I have this for Mano Hazarika: I have
put together a reply to your qwuestions yesterday. One was about WHY UAONA
continues to exist. But before I post my response, may I ask WHAT it is
that drives YOU or whoever else is asking it, WHY it should NOT continue to
exist?
I will answer it forthrightly. In fact I have it written already. I have no
intent of evading or ignoring unlike we have seen in a whole lot of other
such questions. But let us first hear WHY it ought not to exist? *I* know
why you asked it. But There are a lot of Netters who don't. Let us set the
context and the scene, so that my answer could be evaluated by the readers
in perspective of issues and events.
If Hazarika is unwilling to soil himself more by handling it, let us have
someone more courageous come forth and lay it bare. Shall we?
