Dear Sarmada,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I apreciate it as I'm sure most members of the community
also do. It is indeed heartning to know that you are working towards a successful conference
and adopting a meaningful name for the conference that can be embraced by all sections of
the community. My best wishes towards this effort.

At the same time, I recall that Mr. Mano Hazarika, on August 9, 2003, had posted a message
to this forum stating that the name of the event as "2004 Assam Convention." However,
since you, as the Chairman of the steering commitee have said that the name has not yet
been finalised, then we must assume that Mr. Hazarika was in error when he posted his
announcement. I'm not sure where Mr. Hazarika got his information, but considering that
you have not yet decided on a name, I'm sure you, as the Charmain of the Steering Committee,
will agree then that his announcement stands null and void. Since this is an issue of utmost
importance and sensitivity to the larger community I'm positive you will do the needfull
by either issuing a retraction to the prior statement made by Mr. Hazarika or instruct
Mr. Hazarika to do so himself.

Best Regards

Probal Tahbildar

Dear Probal:
We have not yet decided on the name. When we as the local hosts decide on the
name, as local hosts have done in the past, you, as well as the rest of the
community, will know.
Best wishes
Barada Sarma
