Hello Group.. Does anyone know of any recent changes (in the last 12 months) to policy about having my Asterisk+Sangoma re-write the outgoing Caller Id Name when it makes a call? This would be through a PRI. As per Sangoma instructions, I've checked the SETUP message of a call by reading the output of "pri intense debug span 1" and found that Asterisk is indeed writing the caller id and caller id name correctly, but when people receive our calls, they only get the caller id number; the name isn't there.
Everything incoming (name and number) is working fine. Before I call Bell for technical support and get a non-answer from some junior person, I figured I would check with the group. Maybe it's not allowed anymore? I could have sworn it worked in 2007 when I setup this PBX! Any help would be appreciated, please & thanks, -Marc > Protocol Discriminator: Q.931 (8) len=61 > Call Ref: len= 2 (reference 3561/0xDE9) (Originator) > Message type: SETUP (5) > [04 03 80 90 a2] > Bearer Capability (len= 5) [ Ext: 1 Q.931 Std: 0 Info transfer capability: Speech (0) > Ext: 1 Trans mode/rate: 64kbps, circuit-mode (16) > User information layer 1: u-Law (34) > [18 03 a1 83 96] > Channel ID (len= 5) [ Ext: 1 IntID: Implicit PRI Spare: 0 Preferred Dchan: 0 > ChanSel: As indicated in following octets > Ext: 1 Coding: 0 Number Specified Channel Type: 3 > Ext: 1 Channel: 22 ] > [28 11 b1 4d 61 72 63 20 43 61 72 72 61 66 69 65 6c 6c 6f] > Display (len=17) Charset: 31 [ Marc Carrafiello ] > [6c 0c 21 83 39 30 35 34 39 31 32 30 32 33] > Calling Number (len=14) [ Ext: 0 TON: National Number (2) NPI: ISDN/Telephony Numbering Plan (E.164/E.163) (1) > Presentation: Presentation allowed of network provided number (3) '9054912023' ] > [70 0b a1 39 30 35 35 39 39 30 36 37 39] > Called Number (len=13) [ Ext: 1 TON: National Number (2) NPI: ISDN/Telephony Numbering Plan (E.164/E.163) (1) '9050000000' ] q931.c:3128 q931_setup: call 36329 on channel 22 enters state 1 (Call Initiated) < [ 00 01 01 c2 ]
