To add to Bell's behaviour ... I just received a phone response from
Bell Executive Offices regarding a complaint I filed last week.
For the first time in I don't know how long, I actually read every line
on my Bell bill. Much to my surprise there is a long distance plan which
I specifically removed some 10 years ago. Look who's back!
I called and was told I "ordered" said service however they are unable
to provide any type of documentation for me having done so. They just
keep pointing to my invoice as the "proof" that it was ordered. That
only proves they can invoice something - it certainly doesn't mean I
ordered it.
So, if the amount is small enough that we don't notice - multiplied by
their user base - there is a tidy bit of ill gotten gains to their
bottom line. Nice, eh?
It might be time to give Stephan all my business :-)

Hey Marc,
It doesn't matter how big your account is with them, let it be $1,000/month or
a $1,000,000/month account, we all pay the $250.00 each time we request a
change on our service. And god knows how hard I tried to reduce this charge,
but I was never able to avoid it. I don't believe I ever got charged from my
previous provider which is now our new company owner.
I wish I could charge that much for account changes with my customers ;)!
Glad to hear it will get resolved for you.

{SOLVED} Just want to update the group that it was indeed Bell. They are

And Stephan's $250 price tag was bang on. We tried to fight, but Bell used
their mastery of the dark side of the force on us. :P

In London, ON last year, we had an Allstream engineer tell us that

That's correct. I've done a lot of work with Adtran multiplexers and they
couldn't pass caller names when connected to Bell DNS systems.
