Whats wrong with transcoding on the server for proprietary formats (if you insist on using them ) ? it will load the cpu a bit but a decent mac/pc/server will cope with it.
It won't hurt sound quality at all, lossless is lossless. you can have alac transcoded to flac. Besides there are some kamikaze pilots ;-) here that insist on having alac and wma lossles on linux based NAS boxes ? that would be like me shopping for cars in uk and complaining that the steering wheel is at wrong side. Use your alac or wma lossles with an os/hardware that has natural support for it, makes transcoding painless (unless you like pain ). -- Mnyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=61804 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
