Even if you'd put up a 100k DAC - that wouldn't change the SPDIF flaws. Though I think that's not what you're talking about. Some manufacturers might be able to decouple and reclock the SPDIF-input originated stream properly. But that's a different story. You'd need a pretty sophisticated reclocker to cut-off the input from the DAC stream. NAIM tried it on the NAIM DAC with a large ring buffer and a Sharc processor managing all that. Let us know if you're aware of a DAC achieving that. I never listened to one. I'd be really interested to give it a try. -- soundcheck 'soundcheck's Touch Toolbox 2.0' (http://soundcheck-audio.blogspot.com/2011/01/soundchecks-squeezebox-touch-toolbox-20.html) || 'soundcheck's Touch Toolbox - Beta Blog' (http://soundcheck-audio.blogspot.com/2011/01/soundchecks-tt-beta-blog.html) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ soundcheck's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34383 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84903 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
