NO. Facts are derived from thorough, proven, scientific method that has been tested repeatedly and cannot be proved wrong. A blind test can have major flaw. Take into account the Uri Geller tests at Stanford. Major flaws in their so called blind tests that turned out not to be so blind after all. > Anyway: for personal preference it's totally ok not to rely on facts. Why? Do you like people lying to you? Try telling that to the families of those that have died using homeopathy to cure their cancers. Placebos such as homeopathy exist because the public want it. This doesn't mean that they SHOULD exist. Hippocrates would be rolling in his grave. > And of course I wouldn't want a doctor to tell me, that I did feel > better, though he only gave me placebo. A doctor should never tell you that YOU feel better. How would they know? Doctors are there to treat symptoms. If your doctor is giving you placebos I think you need to change doctors. > That's the same with audiophiles - I also wouldn't want to hear, that I > spent a lot of money just for placebo. Again, someone else cannot tell you how you feel, hear, smell etc. Some mentally unstable people hear voices in their heads. They may not exist but they are there nonetheless in that person's mind. Try telling them it's all BS. Hey if owning this or that piece of equipment makes you happy, that's fine, but if something has a physiological effect, then by definition it HAS to be able to be tested otherwise its bunkum. A double blind test could be easily set up in the audio world (though perhaps probably not at home) and is really the only way one can be sure that all bias has been removed from a certain product be it aesthetic or brand name expectations.
