Just a small correction (might have been a typo): CD has a data rate of 1411 kbit/s (44100 x 2 x 16 bit per second); that's the effective data rate for the music encoding excluding error correction information. This hence is more than 10 times the data rate of a 128 kbit/s mp3 file. Not everything of this additional information is audible (also depends on the material) - that's why mp3 compression is working in the first place. -- superbonham ------------------------------------------------------------------------ superbonham's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22540 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92918 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
