My son's combo lock is less secure than a keyed lock because he often
leaves it on his bike in the open position (with the combination in
place) and the paint on that part of the combination wheels have
become bleached.  In good light, it would not be hard to guess
the correct combination out of the 100 or so that would fit the
bleaching pattern.  Of course, in bad light, when I was trying to
pick it up from the train station for him, I couldn't open it
at all, even though I know all of his likely number choices.
