I use the most simple of them all: When I'm done with one batch, I take a
good amount of the slurry from the bottom of the fermenter, and pitch that
in the next batch. No washing, no magic, no nothing. I can do this 2-3
times, then I get worried if I am carrying an infection along, and/or want
to switch to a different kind of yeast, and so I open another pack. I have
kept the old fermenter in my fridge for a week between batches (one of the
small bottles, and with the air lock well in place) without ill effects.
To be fair, I have to admit that I used to have some troubles with
infections, and since I have not been too keen to reuse the yeast.
I have also done the other way around - made a big starter and used only
half of it for the first batch, and the other half (some days later) for
another batch... That works too.
All the best
Heikki
