John,
I got a 1 million CP (well that's what the box says) hand spot from
the evil (WM) empire. It is rechargeable from 12 VDC or 120 AC. About
$20 bucks I think on sale. A light that size may seem like overkill, but
one night, after finding myself 100 yards past the harbor mouth and almost
on a breakwater , she who must be obeyed, who was at the tiller at the
time, said I'd better fork over some $$ for a good light if I was going to
start shouting at her that way, because the words turn around do not mean
the same thing as turn the boat to port :0
For working on the deck and cockpit, I have an Eveready headlamp with
red LEDs (for night vision) and white led & krypton bulbs if I need it.
Plus about 4 or 5 flashlights in various places and two strobe lights for
the life jackets. Can't have too many handlights, because Murphy is
always out there.

Re: catalina27-talk: Emergency light
List
I am venturing out with a group for some night sailing this weekend.
Knowing that I will probably need some light to spot crab pots, light up
sails, etc. I am interested in knowing what you are using for those times
you need a hand held bright light. I have the typical flashlights. Not
really interested in spending a lot for such a device. Any information
would be appreciated.
