I had that anti glare coating applied to my new glasses for the first time last
year. The coating is still pretty decent, and I'm rough on glasses too. The
only thing I am very careful about is to use the special cloth to clean them;
no quickies with my t shirt, paper towels, etc. If I don't have it around, I
carefully wash it with soap and blot (not wipe) with a cloth towel. They were
too damn expensive to replace otherwise.
I also had custom clip ons made for them right away (50 bucks 15 minutes,
they are wonderful) and they protect them as well, getting the first hit of
salt water and suntan lotion, and I can be wipe them clean in a pinch with
whatever I have around.

But, seems that this coating is hard to clean.
While I'm out sailing, I sweat, get splashed, go swimming, and covered
with sunscreen.
I wonder if any of you sailors have gotten such glasses and have either
good or bad experiences with them?
