Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     8/30: A GLOSSY IBIS was observed at the Visitor’s Center. At May’s Point 
Pool a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, 6 WHITE RUMPED SANDPIPERS and a BAIRD’S 
SANDPIPER were found.
     8/31: 40 WHITE RUMPED SANDPIPERS and 4 BAIRD’S SANDPIPERS were counted  at 
the Visitor’s Center. At May’s Point Pool a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER , a RUDDY 
TURNSTONE, 2 STILT SANDPIPERS, and 2 each of BLACK-BELLIED and AMERICAN GOLDEN 
PLOVERS were reported.
     9/1: 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS and a GLOSSY IBIS were found on Railroad 
Road. The IBIS was seen there again the next day.
     9/3: 8 species of shorebird including SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER were found at 
Muckrace Flats on Savannah-Spring Lake Road.
     9/4: The GLOSSY IBIS was again found on Railroad Road.


Cayuga County
------------

     8/31: A BAIRD’S SANDPIPER and a RED KNOT were at Fair Haven State Park 
along with Sanderling, Least Sandpiper, and Semi-palmated Plover.


Oneida County
------------

     9/01: At Lake Delta 5 species of shorebird, a PEREGRINE FALCON, and a 
GREAT EGRET were seen. The next day a MERLIN and  a BAIRD’S SANDPIPER were 
added to the bunch.


Oswego County
------------

     9/1: 4 species of shorebird including RUDDY TURNSTONE were found at Sandy 
Pond.
     9/2: 1 COMMON NIGHTHAWK and 39 GREEN HERONS were seen on McCloud Road on 
the north shore of Oneida Lake.


Onondaga County
------------

     9/1: Eight COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen at Dead Creek by the Town of Van 
Buren Transportation Department.
     9/2: 1 adult and 1 juvenile RED-HEADED WOODPECKER were seen in the swamp 
on Fenner Road west of Baldwinsville.
     9/3: 31 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were counted as they hawked near the Town of Van 
Buren Transportation Department. 
     9/4: 5 more COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen at the Town of Van Buren 
Transportation Department. A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was seen with migrating 
warblers on Kellog Road in the Three Rivers WMA.
