I think your TTL would exceed well before 50 million hops.  :)

No, as its not ebgp.  With ibgp you can have 50 million hops to the
neighbour, but as long as there is a valid route (in both directions) you
are fine.

Default value for ebgp multihop is 255.  So always specify a value in real
life, but use your discretion in the lab!
