Hi Arya,
No, I haven't done that, I have running windows 8 on my laptop and PC, I was
searching in the internet something similar, I guess the best way to test it
out is to create a VM and execute it from there. I did enable and disable XON
and XOFF still nothing.I will let you know the result after the VM is created
and if it works. Thanks a lot for your help.

In this case it seems problem is related to flow control. You should try flow
control on/off.

Have you tried windows hyperterm application apart from putty and securecrt.?

Hi,

It seems to be that people is not reading properly or my English is not good
enough. Arya, the procedure you are telling me I already did it, as you can
read on my problem description, it says: I broke out the boot process to delete
the config.txt because
sometimes the speed console changes when you do an upgrade or whatever via the
console, but this time, NOT even in switch: mode is letting me hit enter.

Hi,

You can change switch BAUD rate by using below procedure.

1. Power off the switch

2. Press the system button and power on the switch and keep system button hold
for 30 sec

type

flash_init

load_helper

delete configuration file

reset the switch

change baud rate on switch as per below procedure

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/products_tech_note09186a008015bfac.shtml#download_2620

This will allow you to change buad rate to 9600 so you can see logs on hyper
term session.

Thanks,

Hello Community,

I am having a strange issue with my Switch 3550. I updated the IOS and I
changed the Console BAUD to 115200 then I put it back to 9600 when the upgrade
was successful. I turned it on ago normally and now either 115200 or 9600 speed
is not working, I tried SecureCRT,
putty, I changed the console cable, everything. The weirdest thing is that
when I set the speed in 9600 in SecureCRT or putty, I can see while the switch
boots up which means the switch is working perfectly but when it says press
RETURN to get started I hit
enter and nothing happens, absolutely nothing. I broke out the boot process to
delete the config.txt because sometimes the speed console changes when you do
an upgrade or whatever via the console, but this time not even in switch: mode
is letting me hit enter.
I know the switch is working properly because if I connect a cable to f0/0 I
can see the logging message on my screen when it comes up (this is in 9600
speed in SecureCRT) Now, is there any other way t

o reset the BAUD of the console? Any other idea to get into the switch? Or if
this is a bug, how can it be solved?

Best regards,Wilberth
