Larry posted the results of the study that sent out resumes where the ones with
non white sounding names but identical resumes were
refused the interview.

You're just unwilling to face the truth.

You put forward the completely disingenuous front that non white people in
America have the same oppurtunities and acceptance as
white people. Yet a black man driving an expensive car is far more likely to
get pulled over than a white man driving that same car.
But you deny that all this racism has any effect on the psyche of those
discriminated against. You also try to deny that America's
racist past has any bearing on it's present and future, which is patently
ridiculous.

>No, you don't, because it doesn't happen and even if some idiot did try that,
>your applicant certainly had 2 or 3 other schools that accepted him;
>if he/she didn't then she wasn't well qualified.

Do you think it's a problem that your country's President got into Yale because
of preferential treatment because of the 'Legacy'
rule? Do you think someone with better grades was denied a chance to enter that
school because your President was let in due to his
last name?

You want an example of a Case that shows how racism can negatively affect non
whites in your country's education system? Take the
case of Davis Vs the State of California. As you know, California's adoption of
Proposition 209 effectively ended Affirmative Action
in it's school programs.Schools that were predominantly Non White were only
given 3 or 4 Advanced Placement programs, whilst schools
with 70% or more White Attendance had over 14 AP classes and over 45 AP
subjects. Advanced placement allows students who show
excellent academic ability to get credit toward the top Universities and allows
easier entry into top Universities in America. And
before you say it, yes, the black students were HIGHLY qualified and HIGHLY
intelligent and this was known. But they simply were not
given the same oppurtunities that their White counterparts had for Advanced
Placement. What you have is an example of institutional
and systemic marginalisation of Non Whites and those from lower income brackets
from attaining excellence in the US school system,
which will therefore translate to performance in the job market.

But you are blind or have forced yourself to be blinded to all this evidence
infront you and insist that there is some 'level
playing field' where Non whites and whites have the same oppurtunities. You do
not educate yourself at all about the other side, and
what non whites have to face in your country.

You seem content to wallow in your dreamlike ignorance of the realities
occuring in your country, and bring that inability to face
reality to this discussion.

I'm surprised you aren't a Bush supporter.

It's not stacked against minorities - as I've said a bazillion times, just look
at the numbers. Do you have a single example of any
minority that's been well qualified for a spot at a top university and turned
down due to race?
