Yeah, I've read about the metabolism thing too. I was going at it from the mental viewpoint. A lot of people just aren't disciplined enough to wake up early and forfeit sleep day after day, long enough to get the results you need to enforce the habit and the lifestyle. I am one of those people. :) Besides, for me, an afternoon early evening workout breaks up my day pretty good.
Basically, get rid of any chance for failure that may possibly exist. :) The stretching I suggest because it has helped with my flexibility quite a lot and it's just overall good sense. Everyone should be stretching before and after workouts. I even stretch midway sometimes. But no one ever stretches at the end of a long day. Ease the stress out of kinked back muscles or neck muscles. Relax, etc. Yoga preachings really - but just 10 minutes before you go to bed to clear the mind and the body cells.
